Nursing Opportunities

This position provides supervisory coverage for all department at Idaho Falls Community Hospital. Has general knowledge of hospital and nursing procedures and policies. Functions as clinical relationship between departments. Communicates directly with department nursing managers in their absence as well as with the administrator on call. Works with physicians and nursing staff with admission assignments, solving nursing issues and addresses patient or family concerns. Comprehends utilization rules and regulations. Understands and promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.

Provides care to patients using a patient and family-centered model to patients who are newborn up to 18 years of age, to include patient and family education while ensuring adherence to professional standards and IFCH policies, procedures, and guidelines. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with co-workers/physicians/ nurse managers; and communicates about changes in patient’s condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.

The ICU RN provides direct and indirect patient care in the hospital setting. Communicates with physicians/nurse manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient’s condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Additionally, is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision to include the duties of the Registered Nurse.

The Operating Room RN is responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period. The RN will assess the patient’s needs, physiologically as well as emotionally, and plan nursing care accordingly. The nursing role during this phase focuses on providing quality patient care through familiarity with and adherence to policies and procedures, and standards of practice for perioperative nursing. She/he will also monitor compliance to established standards and policies and procedures for surgical scrubs. He/she will facilitate and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.

The PACU, Phase I nurse provides nursing care to patients returning from surgery. The nursing role during this phase focuses on assisting the patient through the transition from an anesthetized state to an awake condition. The nurse is responsible for assisting and maintaining adequate ventilation, hemostasis and circulation; assessing level of consciousness, providing pain management, and ensuring the safety of the patient until transferred to another unit. He/she must facilitate and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.

Performs general nursing duties in the Perinatal Department. Participates in performance improvement activities and quality assurance.
